This print is pencil signed by the artist Robert Taylor. It is also signed in pencil by Colonel Doolittle, and 13 other hero aviators flying the B-25 Bombers on this historic bombing raid. It is from a limited first edition of which there were only 1000 prints made. The print depicts Colonel Doolittle having just launched from the USS Hornet making an overhead pass checking his compass heading as other B-25's follow him into the air.
This is perhaps the most collectible and sought after print from all of Robert Taylor's WWII aviation paintings. This is a fabulous collectible and display piece of artwork from a WWII aficionado's high-end collection of WWII history. Would be a great display piece of art in any setting where militaria artwork is exhibited. Note: The dimensions for this unframed print are: 27-1/2' x 38.
Any shadows on this print are from lighting glare. The back side of the cello covering has several small tears approx. No marks and no damage to the hard styro backing board just circular openings in the "cello" covering.
