A P-38 Lightning challenges a pair of Fw190s head on. Breaking up their attack on. A damaged B-24 Liberator high over Belgium, early 1944. A B-24 has been damaged and is losing touch with the main bomber formation as Luftwaffe pilots concentrate their attentions on the unfortunate aircraft. Two Fw190s, are closing in for the kill on the damaged B-24 but, seeing the desperate situation, a P-38 escort pilot makes a head-on attack, splitting the pair of Fw190s and ruining their attempt to finish off the stricken bomber whilst another P-38 also turns in to attack the German fighters.

The print is individually signed by the artist along with two P-38 fighter Aces and two top-scoring Fw190 fighter pilots who fought in the skies over Europe in World War II. 35th Fighter Group / 5 victories. 364th Fighter Group / 7½ victories. JG 1 / 133 victories.
