On Sunday 17 September 1944, the first day of Operation Market Garden, C-47 Dakotas of the 439th Troop Carrier Group dropped thousands of paratroopers from the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions into Holland, a hundred and fifty miles behind enemy lines.

This daring operation, the largest airborne assault of World War II, aimed to capture and secure vital bridges in the Allies' push towards the Rhine. This majestic piece was specially commissioned to. Pay tribute to the US Airborne forces that took part in the liberation of Europe. Including D-Day, Operation Market Garden, and Bastogne.

The prints in this historic edition have been personally signed by veterans of one of the most famous Airborne Divisions, the 101st Airborne, to make this a true collector's gem. Two print set Each print in this specially released edition is issued with a companion print of the superb pencil drawing'LONG HARD ROAD'. With eleven signatures on the main print and seven signatures on the companion print the edition is personally signed by a staggering total of EIGHTEEN veterans of the 506th P. R, 101st Airborne, including thirteen members of the legendary'Easy' Company.
