Robert Taylor's new painting depicts one of Pan American's four-engined flying boats, the Consolidated Aircraft's PB2Y Coronado. The Coronado was developed to met the US Navy's need for a much larger, heavier flying boat for over-water reconnaissance and bomber service and was completed in 1937. Several models were created and in 1943-4 a number of Coronados were modified for Naval Air Transport Service. PB2Y-3R is depicted at rest by Pan American's Marine Terminal at San Francisco's Treasure Island.

The Coronado performed vital transport services across the Atlantic and throughout the Pacific. On one notable action, Captain William Moss and his crew landed in heavy seas to rescue 48 survivors from a torpedoed merchantman having to lift off in 15ft swells to fly the oil-soaked seaman 300 miles to safety. The lithograph is signed by Robert Taylor and Pan American Captain William Moss.

The lithograph is accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity and the brouchure describing the artwork. The lithograph has been stored flat in archival materials and not exposed to light.

The lithograph is undamaged and in excellent condition.
