Above them, B-17s & P-51 Mustangs are already outward bound. A P-38 Lightning is being armed in the background. Nice touch by Robert to include all 3 US escort fighters in this tribute to 8th AF Fighter Command. Never framed, stored flat in a non-smoking, climate-controlled environment.
