The 34th Bomb Group's'Queenie', first home to Mendlesham today, has come to a standstill, the co-pilot already briefing the crew chief on the status of the aircraft. Another B-17 taxies while a jeep scurries across the tarmac to collect the crew of a third aircraft.

Other B-17s are already parked as the last man home makes his final approach, streaming vapor from a badly overheating engine. It is April 1945 and the fickle English weather greets the returning airmen with a mix of brillant sunshine and passing April showers. Robert Taylor's evocative lithograph is signed by Robert and two distinguished B-17 skippers including the Captain and pilot of'Queenie'. The book contains 70 magnificent color pictures of Robert's work over the last 25 years. Overall print size: 33 1/8" X 23 1/2".

Each print is individually hand signed by Robert Taylor and the following two B-17 Pilots. Dees, Squadron Commander 34th Bomb Group Captain Rolland H.

The lithograph is accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity and brochure describing the artwork. The lithograph has been stored flat in archival materials and not exposed to light. The lithograph is undamaged and in excellent condition.
