"The Dambusters" Robert Taylor- A RARE DOUBLE SIGNED stunning limited edition print (1500) signed by Dambuster raid pilot Micky Martin and Sir Arthur "Bomber" Harris issued in 1980. Flight Lieutenant Mick Martin makes his run against the Mohne Dam, while just ahead, on his starboard side. The Lancaster flown by Guy Gibson draws the enemy flak. Originally published in 1980, this now very rare print is signed by Flt. Mick Martin, and Bomber Harris.

Martin's penchant for low flying contributed to his selection in March 1943 for assignment to the newly formed No. 617 Squadron under Wing Commander Guy Gibson. Martin took part in the "Dambusters" raid on the night of 16/17 May 1943. He piloted the Lancaster bomber AJ-P "Popsie" (officially known as AJ-P "Peter") in the first formation. Which was assigned to attack the Mohne Dam in Western Germany. He was awarded a Distinguished Service Order (DSO) for his actions. Martin was considered one of the best pilots in the squadron and was known for his dry jokes and constant good humour that he exhibited at all times, even when he was under considerable pressure. Sir Arthur "Bomber" Harris was Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) RAF Bomber Command during the height of the strategic bombing campaign against Nazi Germany in the Second World War. In 1942, the British Cabinet agreed to the "area bombing" of German cities.

Harris was given the task of implementing Churchill's policy and supported the development of tactics and technology to perform the task more effectively. Air Marshal Sir Harold "Micky" Martin KCB, DSO, DFC, AFC - (27 February 1918 - 3 November 1988) Pilot of Lancaster AJ-P, the aircraft featured in the painting. Sir Arthur Bomber Harris GCB, OBE, AFC - (13 April 1892 - 5 April 1984) - Marshall Of The Royal Air Force.
