A TRIBUTE TO ONE OF THE MOST LEGENDARY FIGHTER GROUPS OF WORLD WAR II. Captain Walker'Bud' Mahurin in formation with P-47 Thunderbolts of the 56th Fighter Group - "The Wolfpack", climbs out through majestic clouds high above the east coast of England as they prepare to escort B-24 Liberators of the 392nd Bomb Group on a mission to the German port of Bremen, 26 November, 1943.

A tough battle with the Luftwaffe lies ahead, but today the escorting "Wolf Pack" will claim a record for the European Theater, destroying more enemy aircraft in a day than any other fighter group, and Mahurin will add three more victories to his tally to become the leading Ace in the Group. Commanded by the legendary'Hub' Zemke, the 56th Fighter Group became the first fighter group to fly the P-47 Thunderbolt in combat. The unit roared over Western Europe before and during D-Day and the subsequent Allied advance.

It soon became known as'Zemke's Wolfpack' as their formidable reputation grew. And with good reason, the 56th finished the war with more air-to-air victories than any other fighter group in the Eighth Air Force and was the top scoring P-47 group of the war. In one of the greatest tributes to the 56th Fighter Group ever produced, the edition is personally signed by iconic Pilots who flew in combat with Zemke's Wolf Pack during WWII. This NINE signature edition is issued with the companion pencil print'A Pack of Wolves' and the two print set is personally hand signed by the following Wolfpack Pilots.
